US Poker Bankroll Building Guide PDF Print E-mail
This is the bankroll building guide for all US players. If you are not in the US you can still take advantage of this guide, but we will be launching a new guide for international players soon which will include these and more great deals. Please also note that some of these sites(Golden Riviera, Royal Vegas, Trident, Golden Tiger) are on the Prima Poker network, which will only allow people from certain states(and it differs site to site, so check with them before signing up). Also some sites may block players from Louisiana, so please be sure to double check with support before depositing.

Also, theoretically you only need $40 to get started on this guide based on the first signup bonus, however as you're likely to be playing at least .25/.50, and .5/1 is highly recommended for faster clearance, it's wise to have a least $100 due to variance.
  1. Golden Riviera: 100% to 40 dollars sign up bonus + 10 dollar free bonus. 5x raked Hands to clear.Golden Riviera's sign up bonus is the best for an American with a 100 dollar bankroll. With the 10 dollars free (5 for signing up, 5 after following the instructions on their site) for signing up you gain a bit more padding for your bankroll to clear this initial bonus at the .25/.5 level. Furthermore the bonus only requires 250 raked hands to clear. To read more about this bonus or to take advantage of it, visit Golden Riviera

  2. Golden Tiger: 50% to 200 dollars sign up bonus. 10x raked hands to clear. (Plus UPB Bonus) Golden Tiger's bonus is vital for players with an emerging bankroll. It will increase your bankroll by 50%, and the raked hand requirements are quite reasonable at 10 raked hands per dollar. To read more about this bonus or to take advantage of it, visit Golden Tiger Poker

  3. Pokerstars: 100% to 50 dollars sign up bonus; 10 FPPs per bonus dollar to clear. Pokerstars sign up bonus is fairly small, and clears fairly slowly, but compared to other American bonuses is worth doing, especially since their reload bonuses are far more valuable than the sign up making this worth doing once you reach this bankroll level when a player can in theory play 1/2. To read more about this bonus or to take advantage of it, visit Pokerstars

  4. Poker.com: 5% Bottomless Bonus, 50 points per bonus dollar to clear. Poker.com's new bottomless bonus is a huge improvement over their old bonus. It clears at a fairly decent pace at .5/1 and if you are playing 1/2 at this point the Poker.com bonus will clear very quickly. Also, use coupon code ONTARIO100 when depositing and receive an extra 100% to $200 signup bonus. To read more about this bonus or to take advantage of it, visit Poker.com

  5. Bodog Poker: 10% Bottomless Bonus, 3 Bonus Points per bonus Dollar Bodog's Bottomless bonus does not clear as quickly as Poker.com's bonus so it appears slightly further down the list despite paying out a higher percentage. (Which isn't very important in terms of bottomless bonuses.) This bonus is best left until you are playing 2/4, but is fairly worthwhile at 1/2. To read more about this bonus or to take advantage of it, visit Bodog Poker

  6. Cake Poker: 100% to $500, 33% rakeback. Cake Poker is an excellent up and coming site that is U.S. Friendly with some of the softest games availible to U.S. Players. Their bonus is fairly standard, clearing slowly at .5/1 and 1/2 but at a rate of 4-5 dollars an hour above that. What makes this bonus excellent is the rakeback availible on Cake Poker. When rakeback is added to your bonus the Cake Poker bonus ends up being worth 3 dollars per table hour at 1/2, over 6 dollars per table hour at 2/4, and 8.50 per table hour on 3/6 which is an excellent rate for currently available U.S. bonuses. They also have a variety of other rewards promotions. Sign up for Cake Poker Rakeback.

  7. True Poker: 100% to 200 dollars, 10 raked hands per bonus dollar. (Partial raked hands awarded for hands raked under one dollar.) True Poker's bonus clears more slowly than in the past, but for a bankroll of this size it is a quality bonus while playing 2/4 or even 1/2. To read more about this bonus or to take advantage of it, visit True Poker

  8. Full Tilt Poker: 100% up to 600 dollars, 16.67 points per bonus dollar to clear. (UPB Bonus: 27% Rakeback) Full Tilt's Bonus when combined with rakeback (though they do not stack as Absolute does, rakeback combined with bonus gives you substantially more cash than just the bonus.) makes Full Tilt the best destination for an American player with a robust bankroll, or one needing a boost to put it over the top. The bonus itself does not begin clearing quickly until 2/4 or 3/6 limit Hold Em, and a player playing here with rakeback will make a considerable amount of money over the long term. To read more about this bonus or to take advantage of it, visit Full Tilt Poker or read our rakeback page.
