To everyone reading this, I’m sorry I didn’t get any updates in the past few days. I had some personal issues that came up, and the bankroll strategy we discussed earlier could be summed up as “depressed, angry, etc + risk $$$ = no.” As a result, I decided it was best to take a break.
Yesterday was Monday and I still didn’t feel better, and honestly, I still don’t today. Well, let’s see how I did!
Oh, well that’s helpful. I can’t seem to get it to work right today. I’m sure it’ll be resolved soon. In light of that, here is a text description:
Last night, despite how things are for me, I decided to I need to give everybody reading this something. I still was in no mood to risk actual money, so I thought of doing only freerolls, but then I realized I had earned Full Tilt Points and that maybe I could do something with those!
I played a few daily dollar satellites, and managed to win two tickets. Since the Daily Dollar is now multi-entry, I put them both in last night, and I managed to finish in the top 900 with both entries. Entry #1 went out with AJo < 88 aipf, which was standard since I was fairly short. Entry #2 was eliminated when I made a bad decision and lost QJs < AKo. I actually misread the pot size by an entire digit and this caused me to think it was a much more profitable call than it was. That was embarrassing. See why I don't want to go risking money while I'm in this state? Along with the Daily Dollar I played a private freeroll that had about 900 entrants (it's not too private. Make a free account on another site and the password is right there.). I placed in the top 80 for a whole ten cents! After that, I played some O8 sngs, but wasn't playing as well as I should. I felt impatient, and even started to play a couple cheap HU sngs on the side. It was at that time that I realized that I needed to continue with the "no money games" strategy. As a result, most of the daily dollar winnings I had were given right back, so there's no major change to my bankroll from last time. Today I doubt I will risk any money for the same reason. Current bankroll: $60.32 On another note, I've noticed that it's been about a week since Zizzyx has sent in any sort of update. Are you still doing this, Zizzyx? I'll understand if you're feeling discouraged or burnt out. I'm sure walking around collecting cans when you can make more doing your real job is an opportunity cost you aren't sure how you feel about. This has been really entertaining so far, and I think that's mostly because of you. You're the real star here. Seriously, you've done a great job and set up some excellent photos and even managed to make collecting cans look like an exciting adventure. Whether you win in the end or not, I think you'll win the popularity contest for sure. As a result, I want to make you an offer. If you feel that you really aren't up to doing this anymore, you can forfeit the contest, and I will share $50 of my winnings with you. Normally I wouldn't think along these lines, and would just slug it out to the end full steam ahead, but I've really liked the content you provided, and it's because of you that this contest has been fun at all. Of course, if you decide that the game is on and jump back into it, I'll be equally quite pleased. Either way, people who have enjoyed my updates can rest easy knowing that I am committed to finishing this challenge either way (unless Zizzyx just up and wins, at which point I will stop, of course.). I have no intention of stopping. Even though I am going through a bit of a depressed period and that has thrown the emergency brakes on me for a few days, once my head is screwed back on the right way I'm going to be back to doing what I do best, and by that I mean giving insane poker advice that isn't based in reality in the slightest. After all, even if there was a forfeiture, I wouldn't feel right accepting any prizes until I had won properly. Next update preview: Maybe I'll get a tournament result history to load this time!
