This is my first update for the freeroll contest. I have to say I’m quite amused that I ended up getting involved in this. I should note for everyone’s understanding that I first threw my hat in the ring to break the ice and draw more, and perhaps more interesting hats, but alas, mine was the only one tossed at all, and so now I have the honorable position of “whore.” Worse, a freeroll whore, which means that I will somehow make less money that I would by walking the streets of Atlantic City.

Before I open, I would like to thank everyone at Ultimatepokerbankroll.com for sponsoring this contest, and my fellow goons who decided to throw more incentives in the ring. I’m going to do my best for those rooting for me! Also, I would like to thank Zizzyx, and wish him the best in this contest, mostly because it is my fault for agreeing to do this that he must now wander his town digging through people’s trash.

Speaking of which, I’m afraid that in some sense on day 1 I let down the people rooting for me, and as a result this update will be a little bare bones. I’m suffering from a cold and as such didn’t get started until late in the day, and wasn’t able to play much due to the fact that colds make my focus ability shut down completely.

To compensate for this slight, my next update will contain a full discussion on my plans strategy. Openly disclosing this goes against my normal judgment since that lets Zizzyx know what I’m thinking, but in the end, he must walk around and collect cans, and all he can do is put more time into it or try to streamline the process if I worry him.

Tonight I played the 9:40PM Razz Freeroll on Full Tilt Poker. Due to dozing off as a result of my cold I actually slept through the first hour of the tournament. Shameful! Here’s how I did anyway!

As you can see, despite my lateness I managed to plow my way through over 6000 opponents to finish 15th. The last hand I played I jammed A26 into two worse hands but the cards didn’t fall my way. I would have had about 600k in chips had I won the hand (which would have put me at near average, I believe). I’m afraid my cold symptoms are making it too hard for me to focus on finding the hand history just now. Later updates will be better and more detailed, I promise!

In any case, I now have $3 in my FTP bankroll. I now have the opportunity to try my hand at the cash tables or 2 min-stakes SNG tournaments. I am going to hold onto the money until I am in better mental shape, in any case. I think this is exceptionally good for the circumstances, and I have matched the 60-can performance of Zizzyx.

I left the tournament # in the screenshot in case anyone wants to confirm from later screenshots that I didn’t just use a generic picture of $3 being won. I didn’t also take a screenshot of the lobby simply because it would be redundant.

Let’s hope for me feeling much better tomorrow. I’m going to soak in a hot bath and do what I need to do to take on the world come Wednesday.
