In the past two days there have been more developments in the story of the seizure of poker domain names and indictments against Pokerstars, Full Tilt Poker, Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker. First, while Pokerstars immediately suspended real money play for Americans and Full Tilt soon followed, the Cereus network has not. No news has come out of Absolute or Ultimate Bet regarding the future of US Players. Given their shady history of super users and so many other issues we would not recommend that US players move their money to this network.
The second most interesting item is that the dummy sites put up by Stars and other sites have been popping up. These sites were used to make their transactions look legitimate to US Banks. Basically, Pokerstars had these sites set up with customer service, fake testimonials and a range of “products” for sale to fool the banks. The most amusing is One Shop Center, a fake Pakistani e-commerce site. Sadly www.mygolflocation.com is no longer online.
There have also been reports that US gaming interests that made deals with Pokerstars and Full Tilt such as Wynn Resorts and the Fertittas have quickly voided these deals.
