Cake Poker has introduced the classic card game War to their software. This game is only available through the Cake 2.0 software so make sure you have that if you want to play this. Cake is offering two variants of War, Tactic War and Blitz War. Here are the rules for each:

Tactic War: The classic version of war, each player receives 10 cards to play with.

Each player gets a set of bid cards ranging from 1 to 10:

The playing deck is then created with 10 cards ranging from 1 to 10 which are shuffled and placed face down in the middle of the table.

Each round, a card from the center deck is revealed. All the players choose a card from their hand and place it face-down in front of them. Cards are then revealed simultaneously with the following rules in play:

* The player who played the highest card wins the deck card.

* If there is ever a tie for the highest card, then those cards cancel each other out and the player who played the next highest card wins the deck card.

* In the case of a perfect tie, where all cards are equal, no one wins the deck card in this round. The deck card remains on the table and is added to the new deck card in the next round. The winner of the next round will win all the accumulated deck cards.

The game continues until all the deck cards are drawn. Each deck card won by the player gives that player an amount of points equal to the value written on the face of the card. Example: the player in the image below has won the deck card 6, 3 and 5. This player has a total of 14 points.

The winner of the game is the player with the most points.

Blitz War: A higher speed version of the game with 6 cards.

Each player gets a set of bid cards ranging from 1 to 6:

Each round, all the players choose a card from their hand and place it face-down in front of them.Cards are then revealed simultaneously with the following rules in play:

* The player who played the highest card receives 1 point.

* If there is ever a tie for the highest card, then those cards cancel each other out and the point goes to the player who played the next highest card.

* In the case of a perfect tie, where all cards are equal, no one wins the point in this round and the point is instead added to the next round. The winner of the next round will win all the accumulated points.

The game continues until all the cards are played, and the winner is the one with the most points.

Those are the rules for each. This is a pretty interesting addition to Cake. It is also out of left field. But who knows, there may be War donkeys, or something! If you aren’t a member of Cake Poker and want to give War a try, click here for more information or to sign up for 33% rakeback!
